Amplify Credit Union Promotes Mortgage Lending Leader After Period of Dramatic Growth

JC San Pedro named chief lending officer following more than $100 million in mortgage growth and expansion of statewide lending partnerships

AUSTIN, Texas – Today, Amplify Credit Union announced the promotion of JC San Pedro to chief lending officer following a period of significant growth across the credit union’s lending operations. As a pioneer of fee-free banking, Amplify has earned national headlines for its future-focused thinking, and San Pedro will continue to innovate the credit union’s approach to commercial and residential real estate lending.

Since taking over Amplify’s mortgage lending division in 2025, San Pedro has led a 543% increase in mortgage production, helping the credit union originate more than $100 million in additional mortgage volume compared to the same period in 2025. The growth comes during a period in which federally insured credit unions nationwide reported loan growth of 4.6% in 2025, according to National Credit Union Administration data.

In his new role, San Pedro will oversee all commercial, mortgage, and consumer lending operations and lead the credit union’s lending and loan servicing strategies. He will oversee a lending platform that services loans for 150 investors and includes more than 30 wholesale broker relationships across Texas, expanding Amplify’s ability to reach borrowers statewide.

As chief lending officer, San Pedro will oversee the credit union’s commercial, mortgage, and consumer lending operations, building on recent gains in production, efficiency and statewide lending partnerships. San Pedro previously served as the SVP of Loan Administration at Amplify and held leadership roles in lending departments at CIT Bank and OneWest Bank. He and his husband are active board committee members of ATXGFL and league members of Stonewall Sports – Austin where their kickball team remains undefeated since 2018.
