Amplify Credit Union Named Top Austin-Area Mortgage Lender
Amplify Credit Union ranks among top Austin-area mortgage lenders on Austin Business Journal list.
AUSTIN, Texas – Today, Amplify Credit Union was ranked as one of the top Austin-area mortgage companies by the Austin Business Journal. This is the latest growth indicator for Amplify’s real estate team, which has also grown its loan participation portfolio to over 150 investors during this same time period.
“The past year has really shown what our real estate team is capable of,” JC San Pedro, Amplify’s Chief Lending Officer, said. “With so many national lenders active in the Austin real estate market, it’s more important than ever for credit unions like Amplify to show the difference local lending can make and keep more of that money inside our communities.”
Two of the ranking categories tallied by the Austin Business Journal are the dollar amounts of loans closed in the Austin area and the number of mortgage loans originated and closed in the Austin area. After not appearing in either category in 2025’s list, Amplify ranked 15th and 13th in those categories respectively, with $44 million funded across 131 loans.
This ranking underscores a year of rapid growth for Amplify’s loan origination team. Earlier this year, Amplify announced the promotion of San Pedro to the role of Chief Lending Officer after a 543% increase in loan production. Amplify has also made the growth of its origination team a major focus over the past year, growing its number of loan originators across the state of Texas.
