AUSTIN, Texas – July 26, 2018 – On the heels of its 50th anniversary, Amplify Credit Union is poised for future growth and preparing to increase its impact in the Austin area even further with a focus on social endeavors under the name “a safe place to call home.”

“As a credit union, ‘care for community’ is one of the cooperative principles on which we’re founded, so giving back is an integral part of how we do business, and always has been,” said Amplify Credit Union CEO Paul Trylko. “Looking ahead, we’re going to expand the impact we create in Central Texas as our credit union grows. To do that, we know we must focus our time, energy and resources on the challenges we’re best equipped to address, and ‘a safe place to call home’ is a natural extension of what we do every day.”

As a financial cooperative, Amplify Credit Union offers a wide variety of products and services, including home loans, which are a key driver of prosperity for its members. Amplify Credit Union employees are passionate about helping Central Texans purchase homes and use the equity they’ve built through homeownership to accomplish other financial goals. However, they also know many in the region don’t have a safe place to call home. That’s why they want to focus contributions of time, talent and treasure to close that gap in the many ways it emerges in our community, such as:

  • Aiding those displaced from their homes through natural disasters;
  • Supporting those aging out of the foster care system needing permanent homes;
  • Assisting those struggling with mental health issues, in need of permanent, supportive housing;
  • Helping those seeking safety at home, such as victims of domestic violence; and more.

Trylko continued, “We’ve been engaged in many of these areas in the past, so we know that through our employees and growing base of members, we can create an even greater impact. We look forward to learning more about how we can work toward a safe place for more Central Texans to call home.”

To explore the best way to serve those needs, Amplify Credit Union will seek input from its employees, knowing the individual involvement its employees already have, and will gain ideas for additional meaningful ways to create impact. Amplify Credit Union employees are highly engaged in community activities, with many taking advantage of the organization’s Community Care Hours program, through which full-time employees are paid up to 40 hours per year to volunteer for the charity of their choice. In addition, Amplify Credit Union will continue to create opportunities for members to engage as well, both in shaping decisions about where the organization can create impact and in being part of those activities.

Trylko concluded, “In a growing community like Austin, there is so much prosperity and yet, so much need. It’s a privilege to operate at the intersection of both of those realities, and we look forward to what the future holds for all of the Central Texans for whom we can make an impact.”
