My real estate career began with a small credit union in 2014. There I discovered my passion for helping families find their first home and my calling as a mortgage loan originator. Over the next few years, I built up a comprehensive understanding of real estate and consumer loans, eventually becoming one of the top-performing loan officers on my team.
My experience working with first-time home buyers has taught me to go the extra mile to make sure my clients feel prepared for their purchase. Whether it’s running through a complete list of programs available to first-time buyers or breaking down the mortgage process into clear and concise steps, I pride myself on putting their education - and therefore, their comfort level - above everything else. Thanks to my background working with builder loans, I am particularly prepared to help buyers navigate the challenges presented by new construction.
In fact, my work history is a testament to these values. It’s not a coincidence that I’ve only worked at credit unions in my career as a mortgage officer; my goal is always to provide a positive impact on my community, and my work with credit unions ensures that I’m helping build something sustainable for other Austin families. When I’m not at work, I’m helping grow my own little community by spending time with my wife and two kids.
Firstly, I would just like to say that Brandon Rains is a fantastic MLO. He is knowledgeable, patient, and very good at his job. He helped my husband and I with financing our first home. He took the time to answer every question, every detail, and made sure we were 100% comfortable with the entire process.—Nichole G.
