Secure RSS Feeds from MoneyTracker
MoneyTracker RSS provides you with an easy and secure way to stay
up-to-date with your account activity. Once you
configure the feed ,
as activity occurs on your accounts you will receive updates via
your secure RSS reader software. If you don't have secure RSS reader
software, we recommend SharpReader. It's free, and we have a handy
installation package to make installing a snap! Internet Explorer 7 has built-in support for secure RSS feeds, and if you use Safari on your Mac, you're
good to go as it too supports secure RSS feeds.
Great, so how do I get started?
- Step 1: Download
& Install SharpReader or launch IE7 or Safari (Mac)
- Step 2: Log in to Online Banking and
go into MoneyTracker
- Step 3: Set your special password for RSS in the Profile area of MoneyTracker
When subscribing to your account feeds with in the reader software,
it needs a "feed password" to connect to the RSS server.
This password does not have to be the same as your Online Banking
password, but you may set it to coincide if you wish. You
only need to set this password once. If you forget your
feed password, it can be reset.
- Step 4: Configuring a Feed
There are several ways to use RSS feeds. Perhaps the easiest is to just click on an account type in MoneyTracker to see the transaction history. In that screen, you'll see the RSS icon to the right. Using this link to subscribe will show you all transaction activity for that account. You can also create an RSS feed from any type of search. Once you search for anything, you'll see a prompt to the right to create an RSS feed. Simple!
- Step 5: Subscribe to your feeds
When subscribing to your account feeds, you will use your feed
password when requested by the reader software, not your Online
Banking password. For the username, you will use your account
number. The exact method for subscribing to your feeds varies
by the type of secure RSS reader you have, but for SharpReader it's as easy as dragging the RSS icon into SharpReader. If you are using
IE7 or Safari for Mac, you simply click the RSS feed icon and input
your account number and PIN, then add the feed as a bookmark. NOTE: With IE7 it's more streamlined if you right-click the RSS feed icon and open in a new tab.
That's it! You're ready for RSS, and can stay in
constant contact with your account activity.
