How do I report a lost or stolen VISA® Debit Card?

Call our Lost/Stolen number at (866) 664-9364 (available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week) or AMPLIFY at 512.836.5901 or 800.237.5087 to report your card lost or stolen as soon as you discover the loss. I got a call from "Fraud Protection Service". Is this legit?

AMPLIFY uses FRIS, which is a fraud predictor system designed to identify fraudulent activity at an early stage. The system tracks a cardholder’s spending patterns and may contact you if/when changes in the pattern occur. If you are contacted, FRIS states that they are calling from AMPLIFY and will ask you to verify recent debit card activity. You will NOT be asked to provide your debit card number, social security, or other vital information. If you receive a message from AMPLIFY's fraud detection service you will be asked to return a call to 800-327-8622.  You may always call AMPLIFY directly you are uncomfortable for any reason. If we are unable to contact you, a hold may be placed on your debit account.

How is the VISA® Debit Card different from an ATM Card?

The VISA® Debit Card is an ATM card, and it will work in ATMs worldwide. Plus, it may be used for purchases at any merchant that accepts VISA®. That includes restaurants, gas stations, department and grocery stores. If you currently have an AMPLIFY ATM card you can destroy that card when you receive your VISA® Debit Card and PIN.

Is the VISA® Debit Card a credit card?

No. Your VISA® Debit Card can be used for purchases just like a VISA® card, however, the amount of the purchase will be deducted from your checking account and not against a credit line. Because it is also your ATM card, it will allow you to access the accounts you designate through more than 170,000 ATMs worldwide.

Will I need to use a PIN when using my VISA® Debit Card?

You will be required to enter a PIN for ATM transactions just as you would with a normal ATM card. However, when you make a purchase with your VISA® Debit Card, you either enter your PIN or simply sign the receipt, depending on your preferences and the merchant's capabilities.

Are there any fees related to using my VISA® Debit Card?

The VISA® Debit Card has no annual or monthly fee. Also, any transactions at AMPLIFY ATM machines are free. However when using your card as an ATM card at a non-AMPLIFY machine, there is a $1.00 transaction fee. There is a card replacement fee of $5.00.

When are purchases made with the VISA® Debit Card deducted from my checking account?

If you withdraw funds at an ATM or make a purchase at a POS terminal (where you use a PIN), the money is immediately deducted from your savings or checking account. When you use the card to make a purchase where VISA® is accepted the funds are deducted from your checking or savings account within an average of 1 to 3 days, like writing a check.

Can I return items purchased with my VISA® Debit Card?

Yes, it's easy. The merchant credits your checking or savings account. The credit should post within a few days. Or, at the merchant's discretion, a cash refund may be issued.
